About Us
Sean Staniforth is a young woodworker and fine furniture maker based in Sydney, NSW, specialising in collectable fine furniture, giftware and home decor.
His journey began at the age of 4 with a hammer and chisel, playing with whatever timber he could get his hands on. With patience and perseverance, he refined his skills and techniques, successfully selling his first piece at 11 years. On a family trip to Canberra, he had the pleasure of visiting the renowned Bungendore Wood Works Gallery, providing him with an opportunity to explore the possibilities within the realm of fine furniture, ultimately inspiring him to continue furthering his craft.
Armed with ambition, Sean worked tirelessly throughout his teens to raise the capital required to expand the business, selling his work at local markets during his weekends and reinvesting every dollar to acquire specialty tools and equipment. This allowed Sean to gradually build a client base producing bespoke furniture, amongst these completing his largest piece, a 5m x 5m portable dance stage at 17 years.
Sean took a brief break from the business in 2023 to focus on his Year 12 major project, “Krenov Inspired Cabinet,” which saw him dedicate over 500 hours to the piece whilst remaining committed to his other studies. Sean received 100% for the cabinet, ranking 9th in NSW for Industrial Technology, earning him an ATAR of 93.50. Shortly after graduating, the Krenov Inspired Cabinet went on to be featured in Australian Wood Review and was exhibited at the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery, which remained there alongside Sean’s signature Tornado Bowls until its closure in June 2025.
Sean currently operates his business whilst studying full time at The University of New South Wales (UNSW), pursuing his passion for finance. Today, Sean’s work is largely inspired by a desire to create original designs that push the bounds of collectable furniture, including his latest edition, “Torus”, which has seen him experiment with a new medium, glass. In tandem, Sean also produces a standardised range of high quality timber giftware & home decor. With his pieces exhibited at several galleries and stocked at a number of retailers, Sean is proud to have his pieces in the households of Australians across the country.
